US automaker General Motors (GM) announced that it has agreed with Tesla to use its charging network in North America.

After Ford, one of the country’s major automakers, GM also collaborated with Tesla to enable its electric vehicles to access the charging network in North America.

GM will begin integrating the North American charging standard into its new electric vehicles from 2025, the company said in a statement.

In the statement, it was noted that GM’s electric vehicle users will be able to use its network of 12,000 “Tesla Superchargers” in North America from early 2024.

Ford also announced at the end of May that it had agreed with Tesla for electric vehicle owners to have access to its charging network in North America from 2024.

Tesla Superchargers make up about 60 percent of total fast chargers in the US and Canada, according to US Department of Energy data.
